Hi,

We run two businesses from one location/phone.

At the moment we have the most basic setup, one handset, one geographical number, it rings, diverts to a mobile out of hours, and then goes to soho66 voicemail with a custom WAV file.

What we'd like to do, is add a second number, which rings on the same handset (GXP1400 with only one SIP) but has different call routing - so to a different mobile out of hours, and then soho66 voicemail with a DIFFERENT wav file message - as it is a different company.

Is this possible - (i hope this makes sense!)

Hi Jon,

Upgrading the firmware on the phone, which is free to do, will add a second SIP account which you can configure for your second number.

To update the firmware:

Login to your phone using a web browser.
Click the "Advanced Settings" page.
Locate a section on the page entitled "Firmware Upgrade and Provisioning"
Change the settings in this section to read:
Upgrade Via: HTTP
Firmware Server Path: firmware.grandstream.com
Always Check for New Firmware: Selected

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Update", then click Reboot when asked.

The upgrade process takes around 5 minutes per phone and, the phone will reboot a couple of times during the process.

Nice one!

Always slightly disappointing that the GXP1400 only had one account, but that solves the problem.

Cheers,

Jon
