We recently assisted a customer that had a Linksys router whos call that were made were constantly dropping after exactly 20 seconds, who had bought a Linksys router recently as we'd recommended.
After doing some research, it turned out that the firmware version which he had (V1.00.09) had some issues with voice over internet traffic, that was quickly identified by Linksys / Cisco, and an update released.
Anyhow, after upgrading to firmware version 1.00.14, the problems were immediately resolved.
If you find that you have the same router / firmware combination, then you can download the latest firmware release directly from Linksys at

Thanks that saved me some grief, downloading the latest V1.00.15 fixed it for me.
Your forum seems to mangle the links though

Glad it helped you Mark. Yes we were trying to avoid spammers with backlinks. We've fixed it now so all links should work as intended

It seems that this firmware version can also cause calls to partially drop when placed on hold or when a call transfer is attempted.
The same route cause has been confirmed and an upgrade of firmware will resolve the issue as above.
