Currently I use a Mitel 5312 IP phone (Good phone with nice loudspeaker) where I work (Contracting) and at home I have regular old BT line. I'm looking to swap to VOIP line and I'm slightly confused by the power side of using an IP phone.
Will the Mitel I specified, do I just plug in to my router, or will it need an additional power supply to enable it to have enough juice (Is this any voip phone)? And once connected to my network will it just use DHCP to get an IP address, then I configure to connect to soho66.
TIA, hope to be a user soon (tm)

Hi Matthew,
You will need to use a power supply with that phone unless you have a POE (power over ethernet) injector on your home network.
The phone will be assigned an IP address by your router, and you will need to configure the phone using the username and password that we provide when you sign up for a number with us.

Thanks for that, I now have a POE adapter en-route, and just need the phone now so I can transfer. The mitel 5312 is one of the most basic phones they do, but if I bought a more expensive model, e.g. the 5330

would I be able to use the additional features it can provide? Or would it need to be plugged in to a local controller box for that sort of thing (Programmable keys, call transfer etc.).
