I've just purchased a Geographical phone number to represent myself as a "local" supplier in my business as a chauffeur. The set up process was extremely easy to use and all seems to be up and running within minutes. Well done.

My question however is what happens in the (unforseen) event that I wish to stop dealing with Soho66. Will I lose this number totally or can I retain ownership in some way? Obviously I do not want to expend a lot of money building up business on a memorable number only for it to cease to function if circumstances change.

you can "port" your number to another provider if you so wish ... I did just this but ported the number to soho from another VoIP operator. Although the option is there I doubt you will need it as the service i've received from soho has been top class, and much better then my previous provider.

It is possible to port your number to another provider. The provider will provide you with a form for you to fill out and then you should be okay. The service is pretty good and I wouldn't worry about it. It is very reliable and rarely has any problems. I can't see where people can go wrong.
