Prerequisites

Before you start, you need to know your VoIP username, password and the server that your number is connected to. You can do this from your Soho66 account, by clicking My Soho, then "Your Numbers", then the telephone number that you wish to connect to. The VoIP username and VoIP password are near the bottom of the page, in a section entitled VoIP Settings.

NOTE: If your network provider is either T-Mobile or EE in the UK, your application WILL NOT work over 3G/4G as these networks block VoIP Traffic. However, the application will work over WiFi.

Step 1: Creating an account

We first need to create an account in order to connect to our media servers. If you open your normal phone on your device, click on the 'Menu' key to bring up the settings and select “Use Internet Calling” as shown below:

You can define how you want the Internet calling to act. There are three options as shown below:

  • For all calls when data network is available
  • Only for internet calls
  • Ask for each call

Step 2: Configuring your account

Click on 'Add Account' and enter the following options as shown below:

  • Set “Username” to your VoIP Username
  • Set “Password” to your VoIP Password
  • Set “Server” to sip.soho66.co.uk

Once you have entered all the information above, your device should be be connected with our service. To make a call, just type in the number you wish to dial and select 'Internet Call' and this will dial via your Soho66 account.
